Example of the 1st and last playtest
Infinity skies is a game made by the company dreamfuel. It is a castle building game that also has NFT’s. The focus was to make a fun game first that would also include NFT’s since a lot of games that had NFT’s aren’t focused on the gameplay aspect. I was hired to do quality assurance and playtesting. For the playtesting I did a playtest every 3 weeks to playtest the latest build. What exactly I was playtesting was decided beforehand together with the rest of the team. Sometimes we tested with only new players, sometimes we tested with older players and we also tested with different groups (people who aren’t experienced with videogames, people who like building games, people of certain age groups etc.) The playtests started at the early development phases. This way we could see how changes impacted the playability for the players. I also worked with the theory of the 6 elements of play. This theory splits fun in 6 different categories that way we could see what factors of the game needed work. The testing was also done with an eye tracker and keyboard tracking this way we could see if players understood the controls and if buttons where visible enough. To see the information that I gathered in the playtest please open the link below. Unfortunately the development of the game has been stopped since the company was declared bankrupt.
