AR treasure seeker and AR coin Collecting is a game made by me and a friend for the company Xifeo ICT B.V. During the Corona crisis this company wanted to have a fun way to have them and their families interact with each other by playing multiple games in AR and VR where they had little competitions. Our job was to make an AR mobile game that was fun for the kids where they compete for the highest score.

DESIGN
AR treasure-seeking: This was a short assignment for 50 hours total. We started out with 3 1 page designs for the company and they picked the 1 for looking for treasures. The idea in this concept is that players need to find as many treasures in a limited amount of time. By making the time-limited it promotes children to look faster and therefore run more around and being more active. To help players find treasures we added heat vision and sonar that way players can find the treasure by focusing on the sound or the screen. Whenever a player finds a treasure he or she is rewarded with 1, 2, or 3 gold nuggets. then a new treasure chest is spawned somewhere on the map. There are always 2 treasures randomly spawned on the map. To make sure everyone was able to play the game we made it so that you can make 3 different maps. (small, medium, and big) since it’s harder to find treasures on a bigger map we made sure that bigger maps give more points than the smaller ones.
AR coin seeking: This mode was made with the already designed engine for treasure seeking. We spawn 2 coins in the field and players need to run to them to get them when both coins are collected new coins will spawn. Players try to collect as many coins as they possibly can before the timer runs out.
